Auf Paulas Spuren

Das Arrangement
zum Kinofilm “Paula”

In Paula’s footsteps

In 2025/26, Worpswede will be holding exhibitions honoring by far the most famous artist to emerge from the artist village: Paula Modersohn-Becker.

Worpswede, the place where she lived for far too short a time, still reveals many traces of Paula Modersohn-Becker and offers the opportunity for an exciting journey through time from 1900 to the present day.

Visit the former home of Paula Modersohn-Becker and Otto Modersohn with an experienced tour guide, the former poorhouse where she found many motifs for her paintings, the church with its murals, her grave in the Worpswede cemetery with the tombstone designed by Bernhard Hoetger and much more. Discover Paula’s Worpswede in the local museums using the pictures of her fellow artists – and compare it with today’s Worpswede.

You will stay at the Hotel Buchenhof, the former home of Hans am Ende, also a co-founder of the famous artists’ colony.
